Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, Director General of GSO, delivered the opening remarks at the conference
During two days, July 12th – 13th, 2017, in Da Nang City, the General Statistics Office (GSO) held the training conference on integrated statistics and national accounts in 2017.
Mr. Nguyen Bich lam, Director General of GSO, chaired the conference. Attending this event were Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of GSO; representatives of leaders of units under GSO; representatives of leaders of Provincial Statistical Offices; representatives of chiefs and staffs of Integral Statistics Bureaus under Provincial Statistical Offices.
In his opening speech, the Director General of GSO Nguyen Bich Lam highly appreciated the results of integrated statistics and national accounts over the past time, and pointed out the shortcomings that need to be overcome in the coming time to make integrated statistics and national accounts more and more developed, better meet the information needs of users.
At the conference, participants heard the presentations of the following contents: (1) Summary report on integrated statistics of Provincial Statistical Offices in the period 2012-2017 and directions, tasks in the coming time; (2) Dissemination and guidance on the compilation of the provincial Statistical Yearbook and the district-level Statistical Yearbook according to the new mock-up; (3) Introduction of the survey plan, questionnaires and plans for the implementation of the Survey on Needs and Satisfaction Level of Statistical Information Users in 2017; (4) Advanced contents on the quality of socio-economic analysis reports for months, quarters, years, and analysis reports of Provincial Statistical Offices; (5) Dissemination and instructions on the application of infographics in statistical information dissemination; (6) Dissemination and guidance on the compilation of main socio-economic indicator system according to the new mock-up; (6) Introduction and instructions for use of the Provincial Statistical Yearbook Database; (7) Results of the compilation and publication of GRDP data for the first six months of 2017 and national accounts; (8) Compilation of data on gross output of industry; (9) Compilation of data on gross output of agriculture, forestry and fishing; (10) Compilation of data on gross output of construction; (11) Compilation of data on gross output of services. Thereby, it is possible to properly appreciate the results achieved, and also boldly point out the shortcomings, limitations and propose solutions to overcome in the future.
Also at the conference, representatives of Provincial Statistical Offices, professional units and participants focused on discussion about the contents related to integrated statistics, compilation of statistical information products, the implementation of the Scheme “Innovation of compilation process of gross regional domestic product of centrally-run cities and provinces”.
