Representative of Vietnam Statistics awarded the commemorative medal to Ms. Adstrid Bant for her contribution to the cause of Vietnam Statistics

On the morning of August 29th, 2019, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office held the ceremony to award the commemorative medal “For the cause of Vietnam Statistics” to Ms. Adstrid Bant, UNFPA Representative in Vietnam for her honor contribution to Vietnam Statistics during her term of office in Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, Director General of Statistics Office chaired the ceremony. Attending this event were Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of GSO; representatives of leaders of units under the GSO; representatives of the Office of UNFPA in Vietnam (the United Nations Population Fund).

As UNFPA Representative in Vietnam for nearly four years, Ms. Adstrid Bant, with her capacity, experience and enthusiasm, has made significant contributions to consolidate and strengthen effective cooperation between UNFPA and the Government of Vietnam in general, Vietnam Statistics in particular. Especially, she assisted the GSO from the early days of implementing the 2019 Population and Housing Census.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, Director General of GSO expressed the belief that Ms. Asrid Bant’s years of living and working in Vietnam, especially in cooperation with the Statistics, would leave her with good memories of a peaceful country and friendly Vietnamese people. At the same time, on behalf of Vietnam Statistics’ leadership, he wishes Ms. Asrid Bant good health and success in her new position.
