In the morning of July 03, 2020, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) directly under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) held a ceremony to hand the Decision on appointment of Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong as Director General of the GSO. Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of MPI attended and chaired the ceremony. Attending this event were Mr. Tran Quoc Phuong, Deputy Minister of MPI; Heads, leaders of some units under the MPI; leaders of the GSO and leaders of units under the GSO; leaders and civil servants of provincial statistical offices at online bridgeheads.
On behalf of MPIs leaders, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung congratulated the GSO as well as Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong officially on her new position. The Minister stated that Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong had made a lot of contributions to the general achievements of the GSO and had all the standards, conditions, capacities, qualities as well as the support and trust of superior leaders and colleagues. The Minister expressed his hope that the GSO under the leadership of the new Director General would achieve many better achievements.
Newly-appointed Director General of GSO Nguyen Thi Huong expressed her sincere thanks to the truth of superior leaders and colleagues and promised to make great efforts together with the GSO’s leadership to well fulfill the assigned tasks and contribute to the development of the GSO as well as Vietnam Statistics.
