On the morning of October 5th, 2018, in Hanoi, the Steering Committee for the 2017 Economic Census held a conference to summarize this Census. Mr. Nguyen Van Trung - Deputy Minister of Ministry of Planning and Investment - attended and chaired the conference.
In July 27, 2011 Prime Minister promulgated Decision No. 1271/QD-TTg on conducting the Economic, Administrative and Public-Service Establishments Census in 2012.

The fourth Establishment Census 2012 was conducted in accordance with the Decision No.1271/QD-TTg dated 27 July 2011 of the Prime Minister on 1 April 2012.
The 3rd census on economic, administrative and public service establishments is conducted on 1st July 2007 through out the country.
The Census covered all establishments in business sector and non- profit sector.
The GSO would like to present a list of statistical publications which have been released and are expected to be released in 2018
The book sketched fully the changes, distribution of business establishments, administrative units and public service delivery units, number of employees, sector and region structure of the economy, the contribution of each economic sector to the development of the country, each locality during 5 years.
In order to clearly demonstrate picture of FDI enterprises in recent years, the General Statistics Office compiles and releases a publication “The 2017 economic census - Result of Foreign Invested Enterprises in the period 2011-2016”.
