In February, the index of industrial production (IIP) was estimated to decrease by 17.1% over the previous month and increase 8% year on year, mainly due to February this year coinciding with the Lunar New Year holiday therefore the number of working days less than other months.
GDP in the 1st quarter of 2018 was estimated to increase by 7.38%, which was the highest rate of the 1st quarter in the last 10 years, compared to the same period last year, confirming the timeliness and efficiency in the issuance of solutions and drastic direction of the Government to all levels, sectors and localities to make efforts from the first days and months of 2018.
Gross retail sales of consumer goods and services in April 2018 were estimated at 350.5 trillion VND, an increase of 1.7% over the previous month and an increase of 9.5% over the same period in 2017.
