As of 15 August 2015, the country cultivated 1366.6 thousand hectares of winter rice, equaling 94.5% from the same period last year. According to the preliminary report, the country’s yield of summer-autumn rice was estimated to reach 11.2 million tons, approximately 2014’s same crop.
As of mid-October, provinces in the North harvested 837.4 thousand hectares of winter rice, accounting for 70% of the cultivated area and equaling 96.6% from the same pariod last year.
The consumer price index (CPI) in December 2019 increased by 1.4% over the previous month. Generally for the fourth quarter of 2019, the CPI increased by 2.01% compared to the previous quarter and by 3.66% compared to the fourth quarter of 2018. Average CPI in 2019 increased by 2.79% compared to the average in 2018.
