In the morning, November 20, 2018, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) held the training conference on the 2019 labor force survey. Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of GSO chaired the conference. Attending the conference were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Deputy Director of the Population and Labor Statistics Department (GSO); Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trieu, Program Officer of International Labor Organization (ILO) in Vietnam; leaders and staffs of the Population and Labor Statistics Department (GSO); representatives of units under the GSO; representatives of leaders of provincial statistical offices; representatives of leaders and staffs of Population, Cultural-Social Statistics Bureaus under provincial statistical offices. The conference takes place in two days from November 20 to 21, 2018.

The 2019 labor force survey aims to collect the information on the situation of labor market participation from people aged 15 years old and above currently residing in Vietnam to aggregate and compile national statistical indicators on labor, employment, unemployment and income. In order to ensure the successful implementation of the 2019 Labor Force Survey with good information quality, investigators need to have a thorough understanding of the survey profession and survey plan.

At the conference, participants were introduced to the 2019 labor force survey plan; general regulations in the survey; guided to ask and fill in questionnaires; guided to manage the survey network; guided to install and use CAPI on smart devices for information collection.
