Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of GSO delivered a speech at the meeting
Under the implementation of cooperation program between the General Statistics Office (GSO) and the Statistics Denmark (DST) since 2016, following the business trip of the expert delegation from the DST in August 2018 to study the possibility of piloting some activities using administrative data for official statistics, on November 05, 2019, the delegation of the Embassy of Denmark in Hanoi and the DST visited and worked with the GSO to discuss the implementation of the technical assistance program and the way to receive and organize to implement this assistance. Attending the meeting with the delegation were Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of GSO and representatives of relevant units under the GSO. The mission of Denmark included Mr. Henrik Hjort, Education Sector Counselor, the Embassy of Denmark and Mr. Jesper Ellernose Jensen, Chief Consultant, Consulting Abroad, DST.
The delegation of the DST
During the delegation’s working time in Vietnam, two sides focus on the following contents: (1) Sharing the work that DST has done since September 2018 to submit to the competent authorities for approving technical assistance to the GSO; (2) Introducing the Denmark’s strategic cooperation framework by sectors; (3) Discussing the way to receive and organize the implementation of the technical assistance; (4) Identifying in detail the contents that will be piloted using administrative data to compile official statistics in the two fields of education and migration; (5) Sharing the cooperation activities between the GSO and the Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) and the sub-project of using administrative data for producing official statistical data funded by the World Bank. The two sides will also agree on the form and areas of collaboration coming to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between GSO and DST.
