Overview of the workshop
On the morning of January 16, 2020, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) held a workshop on assessing and integrating tax administrative data for the production of official statistical information. Attending this event were representatives of leaders and specialists of units under the GSO and domestic consultants.
The workshop focused on the following contents: (1) Report on assessment and integration of tax administration data for the production of official statistical information; (2) Discussing the use of tax data in enterprise survey; (3) Discussing the connection of tax data at GSO.
Based on the results of the 2017 and 2018 data comparison of the Enterprise Survey, tax registration and financial statements, the experts gave some proposals: Firstly, building software to receive data from financial statements and corporation income tax returns automatically, building software for processing, converting, analyzing and synthesizing data, at the same time, researching, receiving and exploiting data on monthly tax returns; Secondly, arranging resources to check, review, verify and update information into the database in order to improve data quality; Thirdly, for the annual enterprise survey (since 2020), it is necessary to improve towards reducing the criteria in the financial statements for the 1A questionnaire (sample questionnaire) and the 1B questionnaire, conducting the listing survey, not collecting the criteria in financial statements.
