
In the afternoon of November 8th, 2020, the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam (GSO) held an online conference to professional training course of Labor and Employment Survey in 2021. Participants attended the conference including leaders and staffs of Population and Labor Statistics Department and other departments of General Statistics Office; Leaders of Provincial Statistical Office and statisticians of Population room and other departments. The conference will be held for 4 days, from December 8th to11st, 2020.
Implementing the 2021 Statistical Survey Plan of GSO of Viet Nam, on December 7th, 2020, Director General of GSO signed the Decision No. 1750/QD-TCTK on the implementation of the 2021 Labor and Employment survey. The purpose of the survey was collecting information on the labor market participation status of people aged 15 and over currently living in Viet Nam as a basis for synthesizing and compiling statistical indicators. National statistics on labor, employment, unemployment and employee income. The results of the survey will help the Government, the Prime Minister, all levels and sectors to evaluate and forecast the fluctuation of the labor market, thereby formulating policies on human resource development as well as building production – business plans in line with the development trend of the labor market. The 2021 Labor Force survey was conducted in 63 provinces.

The 2021 Labor and Employment survey has many changes compared to previous years such as questionnaire structure and content, information connection with the 2019 Population and Housing Census. In the framework of the training course, departments under GSO will introduce and guide the implementation of the 2021 Labor and Employment survey, including: Changes, issues to be noted in the process. collecting information, monitoring, checking and approving data on the system; instructions on how to define the industry code, the job code based on the information of the questionnaire and how to write the code in the operating website; guide content about IT applications such as using CAPI, monitoring of data and coding on the website.
