In August, agricultural production focused on cultivating and tending Winter-Spring rice, harvesting Summer-Autumn rice, and sowing Autumn-Winter rice in the Mekong Delta. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August increased by 0.05% compared to the previous month, mainly due to increases in rental housing prices and eating out. The CPI in August increased by 2.18% compared to December 2024; increased by 3.24% compared to the same period last year. On average, in the first eight months of 2025, the CPI increased by 3.25% compared to the same period last year; core inflation increased by 3.19%.
Industrial production in August continued to record growth. The industrial production index for August is estimated to increase by 2.2% compared to the previous month and by 8.9% compared to the same period last year.
