Socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2018

GDP in the 1st quarter of 2018 was estimated to increase by 7.38%, which was the highest rate of the 1st quarter in the last 10 years, compared to the same period last year, confirming the timeliness and efficiency in the issuance of solutions and drastic direction of the Government to all levels, sectors and localities to make efforts from the first days and months of 2018.

Socio-economic situation in February and two months of 2018

In February, the index of industrial production (IIP) was estimated to decrease by 17.1% over the previous month and increase 8% year on year, mainly due to February this year coinciding with the Lunar New Year holiday therefore the number of working days less than other months.

As of January 15, 2018, the country cultivated 1,807.1 thousand hectares of winter-spring paddy, an equal to 99% compared with the same period last year.

GDP in 2017 was estimated to increase by 6.81% compared to 2016, This growth exceeded the target of 6.7% and higher than the growth rate of 2011-2016.

Socio-economic situation in November and eleven months of 2017

The IIP in November was estimated to increase by 17.2% compared to the same period in 2016, of which the manufacturing increased by 24.3%; production and distribution of electricity spread 13%; water supply, waste and sewerage remediation went up 10%; however, the mining and quarrying fell decreased by 4.1%.
