As of mid-November, the country harvested 1436.9 thousand hectares of winter-rice, accounting for 76.2% of the cultivated area and equaling 86.1% from the same period last year.
As of April 15, the country cultivated 3,100,800 ha of spring rice, equaling 99.4% from the same period last year, of which provinces in the North completed 1,149,800 ha, equaling 101%; provinces in the South completed 1,951,000 ha, equaling 98.4%
May’s CPI grew 0.2% from the previous month. In groups of goods and services, garments, hats, footgear increased by 0.2%; housing and construction materials by 0.43%; family appliances by 0.25%; transport by 0.36%; culture, entertainment and tourist by 0.26% respectively.
As of July 15, 2014, the country’s winter rice cultivated area was 1,088,600 hectares, equaling 99% from the same period last year, of which provinces in the North cultivated 953,000 ha, equaling 98%; provinces in the South completed 135,600 ha, equaling 106.9%.
As of August 15, 2014, the country cultivated 1,446,500 hectares of winter rice, equaling 98.6% from the same period last year, of which provinces in the North completed 1,179,100 hectares, equaling the figure in the same period last year; provinces in the South cultivated 267,400 hectares, equaling 92.7%.
Nine months’ GDP achieved an estimated growth of 5.62% against the same period in 2013, of which it raised 5.09% in the 1st quarter; 5.42% in the 2nd Quarter; 6.19% in the 3rd Quarter). Of the general growth rate, the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishery rose 3.00%; industry and construction 6.42%; service 5.99%.
As of mid-October, provinces in the North harvested 866,400 hectares of winter-rice, accounting for 73% of the cultivated area and equaling 102.3% compared to the figures in the same period last year. The winter-rice cultivated area in the South was 784,100 hectares, equaled 97.4% from the identical period in 2013.
As of mid-November, the country harvested 1,383,100 hectares of winter rice, equaling 93.8% from the same period last year, of which it was 1,169,100 hectares for provinces of the North, accounting for 98.9% of the cultivated area and attaining approximately the figures in 2013’s same period; it was 214,000 hectares for provinces of the South, equaling 70.4%.
Two months’ trade surplus achieved an estimate of US$ 244 million, equaling 1.2% of total export turnovers, of which trade surplus of the FDI sector reached US$ 2.09 billion while the trade deficit still belonged to the domestic economic sector with US$ 1.85 billion.
