Infographic socio-economic situation in the fourth quarter and 2024

Agricultural, forestry and fishery production in 2024 will take place in complicated weather conditions: Intense heat, drought in the Central Highlands and Central regions; saltwater intrusion in the southern provinces, especially the impact of storm No. 3 on the northern localities. The rice area for the whole year of 2024 is estimated at 7.13 million hectares, an increase of 12.0 thousand hectares compared to the previous year; rice yield was estimated at 60.9 quintals/ha, down 0.12 quintals/ha, rice output reached 43.46 million tons, down 33.6 thousand tons.

Infographic social-economic situation in February of 2025

As of February 20, 2025, the country has planted 2,756.1 thousand hectares of winter-spring rice, an increase of 4.2% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the northern regions have planted 852.4 thousand hectares, an increase of 12.0%; and the southern regions have planted 1,903.7 thousand hectares, an increase of 1.1%.
