The rice-growing area for the entire year of 2025 is estimated to reach 7.13 million hectares, down 1.1 thousand hectares compared to 2024, mainly due to the continued conversion of part of the rice land to non-agricultural purposes and other crops with higher economic efficiency.
The industrial production index (IIP) in December continued to maintain a positive growth trend, estimated to increase by 2.2% compared to the previous month and by 10.1% compared to the same period last year.
Rising food prices and dining out rates were the main reasons for the 0.19% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2025 compared to the previous month. In the 9 months of 2025, the world situation continued to perform in a complex and unpredictable manner, strategic competition among major countries became increasingly fierce, trade tensions, military conflicts, and political instability in a number of countries and regions continued to spread and prolong; financial and currency markets fluctuated, affecting the global economic growth prospects.
In November, agricultural production focused on harvesting winter-spring rice, cultivating other winter crops, caring for and restoring production and livestock affected by natural disasters and floods, especially in the coastal provinces of the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands. Wood exploitation and aquaculture witnessed a stability, ensuring raw material supply for processing and export.
