The rice-growing area for the entire year of 2025 is estimated to reach 7.13 million hectares, down 1.1 thousand hectares compared to 2024, mainly due to the continued conversion of part of the rice land to non-agricultural purposes and other crops with higher economic efficiency.
The industrial production index (IIP) in December continued to maintain a positive growth trend, estimated to increase by 2.2% compared to the previous month and by 10.1% compared to the same period last year.

In November, agricultural production focused on harvesting winter-spring rice, cultivating other winter crops, caring for and restoring production and livestock affected by natural disasters and floods, especially in the coastal provinces of the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands. Wood exploitation and aquaculture witnessed a stability, ensuring raw material supply for processing and export.
Industrial production in November continued to maintain a positive growth trend. The industrial production index in November is estimated to have increased by 2.3% compared to the previous month and by 10.8% compared to the same period last year.
Agricultural production in November 2025 focused on harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop, sowing winter crops, and taking care of, as well as restoring livestock production affected by natural disasters, particularly storms and floods in the provinces of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. As of November 20, 2025, the whole country had harvested 1,283.2 thousand hectares of summer-autumn rice, accounting for 83.3% of the planted area and 100.2% of the same period last year.
