In August, agricultural production focused on cultivating and tending Winter-Spring rice, harvesting Summer-Autumn rice, and sowing Autumn-Winter rice in the Mekong Delta. Poultry farming witnessed a stable growth; pig farming faced challenges due to the complicated situation of African swine fever.
Industrial production in August continued to record growth. The industrial production index for August is estimated to increase by 2.2% compared to the previous month and by 8.9% compared to the same period last year.
As of July 20, 2025, the whole country has cultivated 1,209.6 thousand hectares of summer rice, a decrease of 10.5 thousand hectares compared to the same period last year.
Agricultural production in the month primarily focused on cultivating and tending rice, other winter-spring and summer-autumn main crops, while implementing drastically, synchronously and effectively measures to prevent and control African swine fever (ASF), protecting and developing castle and poultry population across the country.
The index of industrial production in July is estimated to increase by 0.5% compared to the previous month and by 8.5% compared to the same period last year.
As of July 20, 2025, the entire country has cultivated 1,209.6 thousand hectares of wet-season rice, a decrease of 10.5 thousand hectares compared to the same period last year.
