In the morning, November 20, 2018, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) held the training conference on the 2019 labor force survey. Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Deputy Director General of GSO chaired the conference.
On the morning of September 26, 2018, in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office (GSO) in coordination with the International Labor Organization (ILO) held the workshop on statistical indicators on labor in Vietnam’s sustainable development indicator system (V-SDG).
The SDGCW 2020 will generate data for 55 indicators of Vietnam’s Sustainable Development Goals (VSDGs) that are related to children and women. Globally, the survey provides two-thirds of the SDG indicators that can be collected through households surveys.

The non-observed economy (NOE) comprises five groups that are underground, illegal, informal or undertaken by households for own final use, and some activities missed because of deficiencies in the basic data collection systems.
As leaving no one behind is the ultimate goal of the SDGs, this is a strong reminder for us to ensure that all efforts should be made to address the inequities in the society. It is therefore very important that data and statistics is fully understood and appreciated by all stakeholders. Improved quality of statistics and disaggregated data (by age, sex, rural/urban, province/city and other characteristics) will lead to more effective decision-making and better development policies
The 2012-2016 MoU aims to strengthen capacities of data producers, providers and users of labour and employment statistics for evidence-based policy making.
