The Central Economic Census Steering Committee in coordination with the GSO organized the Training Conference of Economic Census 2021. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, General Director of the GSO, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Census Steering Committee chair the Conference.
COVID-19 pandemic breakout has been widespread across the world, exerting severe impacts on global economy in 2020. The world’s economic growth is predicted at -4.2 percent in 2020 by OECD, an increase of 0.3 percent compared to the earlier forecast back in September.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment held a meeting of the Central Economic Census Steering Committee to preside over the plan and implement the 2021 Economic Census. Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment, Head of the Central Economic Census Steering Committee chaired the meeting and spoke directing.
GSO held a conference to summarize 5 years to implement the Scheme on renewing the process of compiling regional gross domestic of cities/provinces under central government (GRDP). Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, the Director General of GSO chaired the Conference.
In the afternoon of November 8th, 2020, the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam (GSO) held an online conference to professional training course of Labor and Employment Survey in 2021. The conference will be held for 4 days, from December 8th to11st, 2020.
The GSO held a Workshop on Summary of the pilot survey and the plan of the 2021 Economic Census. Mr. Nguyen Trung Tien, Deputy Director General, Team leader of the standing group of the Central Census Steering Committee, chaired the workshop and delivered a speech.
The 6th China - ASEAN Statistics Forum was organized online by the National Bureau of Statistics of China. The delegation of the GSO attending the Forum was Deputy Director General Pham Quang Vinh, leading representatives of Population and Labor Statistics Department and the Foreign statistics and International Cooperation Department.
GSO held a Workshop on Development orientation of economics statistic: Current situation and way forward to 2045 with the support of the UNESCAP.
In the morning of October 23rd, 2020, the General Statistics Office (GSO) cooperated with the ASEAN Statistics Division (ASEANStats) and the ARISEplus Project to hold Launching ASAN SDG indicators baseline report and online database portal for ASEAN SDG indicators.
The GSO had a meeting with the ILO led by Head of the delegation, Ms. Va-len-ti-na, the Deputy Director of the ILO in Vietnam.
