Gender statistics help policymakers recognize the differences and inequalities between women and men, as well as their needs and priorities. Thence, policymakers have a foundation to develop, review, implement, and monitor socio economic development policies and programs, ensuring maximum benefits for both women and men, while promoting substantive gender equality across all sectors.
On July 17th, 2024, the Director General of the General Statistics Office issued Decision No. 635/QD-TCTK on the issuance of the Plan for conducting the Labor Force Survey for the year 2024. The Labor Force Survey for 2024 is a sample survey within the national statistical survey program. Its primary purpose is to collect information on the labor market participation of persons aged 15 and over who are currently residing in Viet Nam, as a basis for compiling national statistical indicators on labor, employment, unemployment, and workers’ earnings

The Statistical Yearbook, an annual publication by the National Statistics Office, comprises basic data reflecting the general socio economic dynamic and situation of the whole country, socio-economic regions and localities.
The Intercensal Population and Housing Survey was conducted at 0:00 on 1 April 2024 under Decision No. 629/QĐ-TCTK dated 14 July 2023 issued by the Director of the General Statistics Office (now the National Statistics Office). This is a large-scale sample survey, covering approximately 20% of all enumeration areas nationwide (equivalent to 39,340 areas). The sample design ensures district-level representativeness (prior to administrative mergers for population size indicators and provincial-level representativeness for the remaining indicators.
“Internal Migration in Vietnam, 2009 -2024” is a special publication compiled based on the 2014 Mid-term Population and Housing Census; the 2019 Population and Housing Census; the 2024 Mid term Population and Housing urvey; and the 2024 Labor Force Survey. These are national large scale sample surveys designed to collect information across various domains, including internal migration.

Data from this system helps determine the legal registration of citizens, provides a basis for compiling statistics to inform policymaking and used for further research and studies.
